Formula Drift Brings Its Tour to Indianapolis for the First Time Ever
Round 5 of the 2026 PRO Championship lands at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 30-August 1 — one of three brand-new venues on this year's schedule, and a track with zero prior drift setup data for any team to lean on.
Formula Drift's 2026 PRO Championship heads to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Brownsburg, Indiana on July 30-August 1 for Round 5, officially billed as "Crossroads" — the first time the series has ever competed at the venue. It's one of three entirely new stops added to this year's schedule, alongside Stafford Motor Speedway in Connecticut and the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, in a season that also opens and closes at Long Beach (April 10-11 and October 23-24).
The drift course itself will use part of Indianapolis Raceway Park's short-course oval, a layout choice the series says takes advantage of the facility's grandstand seating and existing parking infrastructure rather than building a temporary course from scratch. The venue is best known as a drag-racing facility — its quarter-mile strip is one of the sport's most storied, having hosted NHRA national events for decades under its various names (Indianapolis Raceway Park, O'Reilly Raceway Park, and now Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park) — which makes a purpose-built drift course carved out of its oval a genuinely new use of the property.
Formula Drift's own preview material makes a point of framing the three new venues as a genuine unknown for competitors: none of this year's teams have any prior setup data — suspension geometry, tire strategy, line choice — for Stafford, Las Vegas, or Indianapolis, since Formula Drift has never run at any of them before. That's a real variable in a series where teams typically lean hard on notes from previous visits to the same track; a driver with no history at Indianapolis starts Round 5 on genuinely even footing with everyone else in the field.
The 2026 PRO Championship runs eight rounds in total, with a four-round PROSPEC development series running alongside it. Road Atlanta remains the only track still on the calendar from Formula Drift's inaugural 2004 season, making this year's three-venue shakeup one of the more significant schedule overhauls in the series' history.
