Singer's Restored Porsche 911s Are Now the Centerpiece of Goodwood's Biggest Display

Singer Vehicle Design's Classic, Classic Turbo, and DLS now hang from a Gerry Judah sculpture in front of Goodwood House — with 19 Singer cars spread across the 2026 Festival of Speed grounds.

Singer Vehicle Design was named the Central Feature marque of the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with three of its restored Porsche 911s — a Classic, a Classic Turbo, and a DLS — suspended from a triple-arch sculpture in front of Goodwood House. The installation, unveiled July 9 as the festival opened, was designed by Gerry Judah, the artist behind the Central Feature's dramatic car sculptures for years running; its simple triple-arch structure was built specifically to give all three cars equal prominence against the Goodwood skyline rather than stacking one above the others.

It's a notable choice of honoree. Singer doesn't manufacture cars from scratch — it takes air-cooled Porsche 911s and rebuilds them to its own specification, reworking bodywork, interiors, and mechanicals car by car. That's a different kind of business than the marques Goodwood has typically built the Central Feature around, including Ferrari in the sculpture's debut year of 1997, Lotus in 2021, Porsche itself in 2023, and MG in 2024.

"Singer has grown up at Goodwood, which has become a second home to us and the scene for important launches over the years," said Rob Dickinson, the company's founder and executive chairman, in a statement marking the reveal. Beyond the sculpture, Singer's presence at this year's festival was extensive: 11 cars restored for individual owners formed the marque's main showing, a dedicated stand in front of the Stable Yard added five more cars tracing the company's evolution — including the public debut of its first slantnose build — and three additional cars appeared in the Supercar Paddock, for roughly 19 Singer vehicles spread across the grounds.

The wider 2026 Festival of Speed ran under the theme "The Rivals — Epic Racing Duels," spanning Formula 1, endurance racing, motorcycles, and pre-war competition history. Against that backdrop, a company that spends its time meticulously rebuilding 30- and 40-year-old Porsches got the same architectural centerpiece Goodwood has spent nearly three decades handing to the manufacturers themselves.
