Ford's New Bronco Package Costs $13,695, Caps Out at 1,000 Units — and It's Only the First of an Annual Series

Ford opened orders on July 27 for Desert Rising, a $13,695 appearance package built on top of a 2027 Bronco Outer Banks — and capped it at 1,000 units worldwide. It's the first release in what Ford Custom Garage is calling the Horizon Series: a planned annual collection of destination-inspired packages, installed by Ford itself rather than sold as a separate aftermarket kit.

The inspiration is specific: Utah's Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and the deep-berry sunrise and sunset tones that wash over its landscape. Ford senior designer Bhavna Mistry said the team deliberately steered away from the desert-racing imagery — dust clouds, competition liveries — that usually shows up on Bronco special editions, aiming instead at what she described as the desert's quieter moments: "The whole place transforms into amazing tones of berry. It's like a reward at the end of it."

The package layers magenta accents onto a Bronco Outer Banks available in Oxford White, Shadow Black, Avalanche Gray, or Ruby Red: a color-matched grille surround, trail sights, and BRONCO tailgate lettering, plus an optional abstract bodyside graphic in overlapping pink and magenta shapes, riding on white Method wheels with magenta center caps. Inside, Katzkin supplies two-tone black-and-magenta leather seats with contrast stitching, color-matched grab handles, and a serialized center-console badge unique to each of the 1,000 trucks.

What separates Desert Rising from a dealer-lot wrap job or a third-party widebody kit is where it's installed. Ford says packages fitted by Ford dealers or ASE-certified technicians keep the Bronco's standard new-vehicle warranty intact — the exact protection buyers typically give up the moment they take a factory vehicle to an outside shop for a cosmetic package this extensive. Desert Rising is the opening move in what Ford intends to run as a recurring, limited-run drop model rather than a one-off special edition, with the next Horizon Series package expected on a future annual cadence tied to a different real-world destination.
